Fáilte romhat.

Welcome to the London Irish Centre Heritage Project Website.

In 2004, the London Irish Centre celebrated fifty years of working with the London Irish community and providing an advice and support service and a social and cultural Centre. Over this period, the Centre, based in Camden Square, gained a considerable reputation in both England and Ireland. Over the years it has influenced the thinking of both governments on how they respond to the needs of the Irish emigrant community.

This website gives a brief insight into the history of the London Irish Centre, with text and research taken from a book 'The Scattering - A History of the London Irish Centre 1954-2004' by Gerry Harrison.

This website, along with exhibition panels, literature and audio visual material, has been produced with support from the Heritage Lottery Fund. The Heritage Project celebrates the work of the Centre and the dedication of the staff and the many volunteers who have played such an important role in helping thousands of people to improve their circumstances and enjoy their lives.
